Statement of Intent

KG Health & Safety Consultancy and Training is committed to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance in all aspects of its professional activities. As a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner, I recognise my professional and moral responsibility to safeguard my own wellbeing, that of my clients, contractors, learners, and anyone else affected by my work. The Consultancy’s goal is to prevent injury, ill health, and environmental harm through the application of sound risk management, continual improvement, and compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.

Scope

This policy applies to:
– All consultancy, auditing, inspection, and training activities undertaken by KG Health & Safety Consultancy and Training

 – Temporary client sites, training venues, and any other locations where professional services are delivered; any subcontractors, associates, or collaborators engaged on behalf of the Consultancy.

Our Commitments

Legal Compliance

Comply fully with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, associated Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs), and all applicable environmental legislation.

Professional Standards

Uphold the IOSH Code of Conduct and maintain Chartered status through continuous professional development. Provide accurate, evidence-based advice aligned with recognised best practice and current legislation.

Risk Management

Identify hazards and assess risks associated with all activities undertaken, implementing suitable control measures. Encourage clients to adopt proportionate risk management principles within their organisations.

Competence and Training

Competence and Training – Maintain appropriate qualifications, accreditations, and sector knowledge. Provide or arrange HSE training that meets the needs of client personnel and enhances competence.

Consultation and Communication

Promote open dialogue with clients, learners, and associates to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure key safety information and findings from audits or assessments are clearly communicated and documented.

Environmental Responsibility

Conduct operations in a manner that minimises waste, reduces energy use, and prevents pollution. Encourage sustainable practices in client operations wherever practicable.

Continuous Improvement

Monitor and review performance annually to identify lessons learned and areas for enhancement. Update this policy and supporting procedures as required to reflect changes in legislation, business operations, or professional standards.

Responsibilities

Keith Graham (Proprietor & Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner) has overall responsibility for implementing and maintaining this Policy.

All associates and contractors engaged by the Consultancy are expected to:
– Work in accordance with this Policy and relevant safe working procedures;
– Co-operate in achieving high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance; and
– Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Implementation

This Policy will be implemented through:
– Safe working procedures for consultancy, auditing, and training activities;
– Risk assessments and method statements for on-site work;
– Adequate insurance cover, including professional indemnity and public liability;
– Record-keeping and periodic policy review.

Review

This Policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if significant changes occur in legislation, scope of work, or organisational structure. The latest version will be published on kghealthandsafety.com and made available to clients and interested parties upon request.
